The building-which occupies the totality of the building lot in order to consolidate a rather weak urban tissue- provides meeting and living places for the elderly and their visitors organized around several domestic scale patios.
Above the Day Care Centre on the ground floor, a continuous ribbon of housing units is bent and set back from the street alignments in order to mark the access, improve lighting conditions and- by reducing the length of the fire escape routes- have a single staircase and elevator core .
A single housing unit, with variations in special situations (corners, 2 room houses), is necessary to meet the requirements. Every unit is accesible for the disabled and has a terrace overlooking the street.
