To update the traditional “pulpeira galega” (galician restaurant with octopus as a specialty) and adapt it to a sophisticated urban environment, evoking Galicia through a design that makes the most of the premises’ virtues and the non-coventional use of three building materials: wood, stone and steel. The layout places the “pulpeiro” (cook) in an elevated position at the center of the premises (to lure people in), integrates the existing cocrete columns and liberates the facade to attach to it a continuous wood bench that evokes the popular origin of the food being served.
