With its new Strategic Plan, the city of Bitonto intends to reassert its importance with regard to the competing cities, to become the center of its area, to attract more visitors and to revise its relationship with the area’s metropolis , Bari .
Two phases. An exhaustive analysis of strengths and weaknesses followed by an outline of possible axis of intervention:
Reafirming its authonomy.
Avoiding conurbation.
Revising its growth pattern (conditioned by the cut of the railway line).
Recovering the “Lama Balice”, the course of the water that originated the settlement.
Taking advantage of its territorial centrality between the sea and the “Le Murgue” natural park.
